A.W.A.R.E.

I rehabilitated opossums for 3 years. I cared for animals basic needs, maintained and built enclosures, and released several individuals. I also worked with Tulip, an educational opossum.

I rehabilitated songbirds under the instruction of my A.W.A.R.E. mentor, Deb Woodward. Some species I worked with were chickadees, robins, bluejays, bluebirds, and chimney swifts. 

I helped present in an A.W.A.R.E. education animal presentation for the Virginia Master Naturalist Group in 2020.

I rehabilitated squirrels for 3 years. I did tube and  syringe feeding, maintained enclosures, provided enrichment activities, and released individuals when they were ready.  

I built a flight cage for predatory birds such as owls and hawks with my mentor, Deb Woodward, I conducted mice tests before release, and helped maintain their enclosure. 

I helped present in an A.W.A.R.E. education animal presentation for the general public at a Wild Birds Unlimited location in 2020.
