This week we had two meetings. We had our regular meeting with me, Serena, Marc, and Debbie (plus Teresa and Bill Keener!!) on Monday from 1:30-2:30. Bill Keener discussed with us the options we had for incorporating eDNA into our permit and research. He said it would be around 6 months if it was just HAPO eDNA, but could take up to a whole year to include other species that we might possibly pick up as well (steller sea lions, orcas, humpback whales, minke whales, fin whales, etc.). It may be possible to just add the eDNA to our current permit, but we are still figuring out what we need to do. We also reached out to Hig, and he is generously willing to help us with maps for our AMSS poster.

We also had a meeting on Wednesday with Cindy the harbor porpoise researcher in Washington. She gave us some great feedback on the work Serena and I have been doing with our catalog and excel sheets. She also shared some papers with us to help ID difficult individuals. Serena and I finished the HAPO catalog, registered for AMSS, and created an outline for our presentation. AND WE FINISHED THE BELUGA WHALE THIS WEEK YAY!
