This week I had the privilege of going through my images taken on the Seward boat trip, and the highlight images are down below. I had the best time on our trip in Seward between the warm weather, low capacity large boat, amazing SBB crew, and the 50+ orcas that decided to pay our boat a visit. I took as many left side images of dorsals and saddle patches that I could because this week we learned that is how to ID a killer whale. This was a whale watching experinece I will cherish for the rest of my life.

On Wednesday 9/7/22, we went out in the Outer Bay to search for humpbacks, sea otters, harbor porpoises, stellar sea lions, and anything else that crossed our path. Serena and I were able to capture images of three harbor porpoises including a mother and calf (images below). On this boat ride, we learned how to document not only spotting sea otters, but the correct terminology for reporting their behaviors as well. We saw around 5 humpback whales, and were lucky enough to see a humpback skim feed through a bait ball (do not have permit yet so afraid to upload photo to here) which was amazing and slightly startling. Attached below are the images of the harbor porpoises, including a black mark below the dorsal on the left side of the calf.
